dc.descriptionThere is llO doubt the fact that the level of unemployrnent and poverty rate in Nigeria is growing high and alarming. Despite huge finances injected by the government, little has been achieved due to corruption, poor target mechanisrn and poor implementation. The quest to arrest these problems gave impetus to the development of illdigenous micro Entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The focus of this study therefore, is to critically examine all the factors that influence und determine the growth and development of indigenous Entrepreneurs ill Nigeria and to highlight the roles these detenninants play in the growth and development of Nigeria. The paper concluded that Micro- (f"ntrepreneurship could create more jobs as a way of addressing youth ulte111ploymcnt and poverty. The paper recolllmended tl1e need for government to par/tlcr lvilh privafe sector to promote and develop MhTo-Ente1prises. There is also the Heed for monitoring team to bedrawn from all sectors of the econmny that would always sensitize and enlighten the citizens and carry out impact assessment of every program in Nigeria.
