dc.description | This study examined the independent and interdependent effects of an internal corporate governance mechanism and an external mechanism on corporate performance measured by ROE.the focus is formed by the argument that a concencus is yet to be arrived at on how to effectively use the various corporate govenance mechanism to deal with agency problem. The study used secondary data obtained from annual reports, covering a period of five years (2006-2010) for 40 listed companies. Using regression analysis and t-test, the study found a significant positive relationship between audit quality and ROE and statistically significant interaction effects of director ownership and audit quality. | |
